The longest driving day of the itinerary. Depart Jaipur around 7:00 AM after breakfast, travelling via Kishangarh (approx. 90 km / 1.5 hrs) and Ajmer (approx. 30 km / 30–45 min further), then through the Aravalli region towards Bhilwara and Chittorgarh, with a lunch break at a comfortable highway restaurant (45–60 min).

Optional Chittorgarh Fort stop: can be included for travellers interested in history, though a full visit lengthens the day considerably — either continue directly to Udaipur, or allow approximately 2–3 hours for selected Chittorgarh sightseeing.

From Chittorgarh, continue to Udaipur (approx. 115 km / 2–2.5 hrs), arriving in the late afternoon or evening. After check-in, a relaxed evening around Lake Pichola, Gangaur Ghat and the Old City lanes.

A day dedicated entirely to Udaipur, beginning around 9:00 AM.

  • City Palace (approx. 3–6 km / 15–25 min, visit 2–2.5 hrs) — Mardana Mahal, Zenana Mahal, Mor Chowk, Sheesh Mahal, Amar Vilas, royal courtyards, museum galleries and Lake Pichola viewpoints.

  • Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh) (approx. 8–12 km / 30–45 min, allow 1–1.5 hrs, particularly around sunset) — panoramic hilltop views over Udaipur and the Aravalli landscape.

Deliberately lighter after several sightseeing-heavy days. A relaxed breakfast, then the morning at leisure — spa, heritage hotel experience, shopping, an Old City walk, or a café visit.

Afternoon — Lake Pichola Boat Ride: a short transfer to the boat jetty (approx. 3–6 km / 15–25 min) for a private or shared boat ride (approx. 45–60 min), with views of the City Palace, Jag Mandir, the Lake Palace, the Aravalli hills and Udaipur’s waterfront. Depending on arrangements, a stop at Jag Mandir (30–45 min) can be included.

Evening: a traditional Rajasthani cultural programme can be arranged, subject to availability — folk music, Kalbeliya dance, a puppet show, a traditional Rajasthani dinner, or a heritage haveli experience.

Hotel → Airport: approx. 22–25 km, 35–60 min

A relaxed final morning after breakfast — depending on departure timing, there may be time for shopping, a café visit, leisure at the hotel, or a short Old City walk. Private chauffeur transfer to Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur, for your onward journey.

Why This Route, Not a Direct Agra–Udaipur Transfer

The Jaipur–Udaipur sector is deliberately built for a private chauffeur, since it allows flexibility for breaks and optional sightseeing along the way — something a fixed-schedule journey wouldn’t allow.

We would not recommend driving Agra → Udaipur directly as an alternative to this route. The road distance is roughly 634 km on current route estimates, and the journey is long enough to make it a poor sightseeing day in its own right. The sequence used in this itinerary — Delhi → Agra → Jaipur → Udaipur — gives the classic Golden Triangle plus Rajasthan experience without an unnecessarily exhausting transfer.

Is This Itinerary Right for You?

This suits you if: you want a comfortable, well-paced Golden Triangle and Rajasthan journey, with genuine leisure time built in rather than a sightseeing sprint — particularly well suited to couples, families and first-time visitors to India.

Consider instead: the Golden Triangle with Ranthambore if wildlife interests you more than lake palaces, or a shorter Golden Triangle itinerary if 9 days isn’t feasible.

Hotel category, the optional Chittorgarh stop, and time allocated to each city can all be adjusted — this itinerary is a starting structure for a private, tailor-made trip, not a fixed package.

Delhi Agra Jaipur Udaipur Tour — FAQs

How many days do you need for a Delhi Agra Jaipur Udaipur tour?

This itinerary is typically completed in 8 nights and 9 days — 2 nights in Delhi, 1 in Agra, 2 in Jaipur and 3 in Udaipur, travelling throughout by private chauffeur-driven vehicle.

Can you drive directly from Agra to Udaipur instead of via Jaipur?

It’s possible, but not recommended — the direct road distance is roughly 634 km, too long for a comfortable single sightseeing day. Routing via Jaipur keeps each driving day manageable while adding the Golden Triangle’s third city to the trip.

Is the Jaipur to Udaipur drive very long?

Yes — at approximately 395–401 km and 6.5–7.5 hours, it’s the longest driving day in this itinerary. A private chauffeur allows flexibility for breaks and optional stops, such as Chittorgarh Fort, along the way.

Is the Taj Mahal visited at sunrise or another time?

This itinerary schedules the Taj Mahal at sunrise (departing the hotel around 5:30 AM) for softer morning light and a quieter visiting experience.

Is this itinerary suitable for couples and families?

Yes — it’s specifically paced for couples, families and first-time visitors, with a dedicated leisure day built into Udaipur near the end of the trip rather than sightseeing every single day.

Can this itinerary be customised?

Yes — hotel category, the optional Chand Baori and Chittorgarh stops, and time allocated to each city can all be adjusted. This page describes a starting structure, not a fixed package.
